Juniper and Jane was a design studio inspired by the great outdoors.
When we say outdoors, we mean remote, wild places, not crowded city streets.
We stray far from the obvious to find the remarkable.
Textile artist, Jane Hunter and her partner Sam Kilday, a designer, founded Juniper and Jane in early 2013. We worked together to design simple, fresh, textile patterns for a growing range of textile products for the home.
Each design starts with map or a chart. Invariably the compass points us away from civilisation to quiet, craggy corners of coastline. Or, perhaps through an ancient forest with our hiking boots softly thudding on abandoned pine needles. Sometimes even straying from the marked route and discovering our own way up the steep contours of a glaciated landscape.
She sketches. He captures the colours. The design emerges from the two.
OK, so our story above might lead you to think that we don't engage or interact well with people...but this couldn't be further from the truth. We love sharing our experiences and learning from our customers about new places to seek out, hills to climb, secret wildlife hides and where to get a decent cup of coffee (not easy in the highlands).
IN APRIL 2017 WE MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CEASE TRADING - FIND OUT WHY.
